Safety & Security Procedures
We hope that these procedures will contribute to your comfort and well-being during your stay at the Hotel Pattee.
Safety Deposit Boxes
Do not leave money or valuables in your room. We provide safety deposit boxes for use at our Front Desk at no charge. Under state law, the hotel is not responsible for loss unless articles have been secured properly in these boxes.
Double Locks and Chains
For additional security, please use the deadbolt provided on your door upon entering. This will prevent the door from being opened by a regular room key. As an additional precaution, please secure the door latch.
Admittance
Do not admit persons to your room without first making identification. A peephole is provided in your door for you convenience. If there is any doubt about the person's true identity, please contact the Front Desk.
Keycards
Do safeguard your keycard. Do not leave it in your room. Do not give your keycard to others.
Fire
Please familiarize yourself with the location of nearest fire exit stairway, and take time to read the fire safety message on the back of your room door. In the unlikely event of a fire, please move quickly and calmly to the stairs. Avoid the use of elevators. Report fire or smoke to the Front Desk.

Fire Safety Message
Plan what to do when you check in. You won't have time to plan during a fire.
First find the two exits nearest your room. Fire exit stairwells are located on all floors. Then count doors between your room and the exits so you'll have a reference point if it is smoky.
When you hear an alarm, act, don't investigate.
If fire is in your room, get out and close the door. Once you are out, report the fire.
If fire is not in your room, leave if you can. First feel your door. If it is cool, open it slowly and go to the nearest exit. Crawl in smoke. Fresh air will be at the floor. Take your key so you can go back if you can't use your exits.
Never use the elevator during a fire. It could stop at the fire floor.
If your room door is hot, don't open it. Your room may be the safest place to be. Seal all cracks with wet towels. Shut off fans and air conditioning. Signal at your window. Call 911 and follow their directions.
Tornado Safety Message
Should the National Weather Service issue a Tornado Warning for the Perry area, we will call your room to alert you. We will also call to tell you when the advisory is ended.
During a Tornado Warning the National Weather Service personnel state "that it is advisable to stay away from any windows and to seek shelter in a basement area or inside small room." Therefore, you may wish to come to the basement level of the Hotel or take shelter in your bathroom until the advisory is ended.
